Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Faith;

This Sunday Beraca's Pray for Haiti will be aired live all across Haiti on Radio Lumiere. @ 7pm.

PRAY FOR HAITI - 40 DAYS OF PRAYER - DAY 30

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

As we are seeking God’s face, we will draw closer to Him. We will begin to see God for who He really is; a God that really love us and have a plan for us. At the same time we will also begin to see ourselves for who we really are, and it’s not pretty. The closer we get to God the more we discover our imperfections such as: our selfishness and how evil our thoughts and intentions can be. We’ll begin to discover in many cases how selfish our motives are even when we are doing the right things. We will also discover how we mostly serve God for personal reasons. Jesus said if anyone will come after me he must first deny himself, take up his cross and follow me. Denying the self is our greatest struggle in the Christian walk. Our church has served in Haiti for the past 10 years; however, since the earthquake we’ve been to Haiti five times. Though the churches in Haiti have increased in numbers and more people are sincerely seeking God, there are still wicked practices in the body of Christ. I experienced something I always used to hear about with some Haitian churches, that is the selfish mentality of some church leaders. For example: if someone entrusts a particular church leader with $100 to give to a member, they will take at least $40 for themselves and give $60 to that member telling them “I only received $60.” When we questioned a leader about this common practice, he could not see anything wrong with it. When we challenged him on it, he cautioned us not to preach against it for it will stir up trouble. Well guest what? Not only did I preach against it to approximately 200 church leaders but spent and extended amount of time explaining how this practice degrades their authority and integrity while minimizing the gospel they preached and the respect they receive from the community. That practice comes from an evil and wicked heart. We saw those with resources to help, instead use those resources to oppress and profit from others in the Church; that comes from an evil and wicked heart. I heard of an account(first hand) where three people applied for a job in a Christian organization (all professing believers) two mysteriously died only to find out later that the third candidate poison their food so that he can get the job; that comes from an evil and wicked heart. The people of God must “turn from their wicked ways..” There needs to be a revival of repentance in the Haitian churches in Haiti and abroad so that God can begin to heal the land. It all begins with His people. Tonight as we pour out our hearts in prayer and intercession for the Haitian churches and it leaders; ask the Lord to convict their hearts so that they may acknowledge their evil and wicked ways and turn from them.

With U 4 Him
