Pray For Haiti 40 Days of Prayer Day 19

2 Chronicles 23:11
11 Jehoiada and his sons brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him; they presented him with a copy of the covenant and proclaimed him king. They anointed him and shouted, “Long live the king!”

In the above passage we get a glimpse of the ceremony of the coronation of the king’s son. Immediately after putting the crown on his head they placed a copy of the covenant in his hand and then they anointed him and shouted “Long live the king!” Look at the progression. Though the bible does mention it, I’m sure that the order of things has its significance. First they identify and acknowledge him as king. Then they placed the word of God in his hand. We can be certain that they intended him to rule by the word of God. When you read the rest of the passage you see that repentance and a purging of the city takes place. As we pray for the next president of Haiti let us ask God that they be a person who will have the word of God as their guide. Haiti needs to go through a time of repentance and spiritual cleansing of their hearts. One candidate who will remain nameless proposes such a process. Whether he gets elected or not let us pray that God will give that person such a heart.

With U4 Him
