PRAY FOR HAITI - 40 DAYS OF PRAYER - DAY 29

2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

After instructing them to humble themselves and pray, the Lord addresses an area that I believe is more personal and dear to Him than anything else. We all know that the Lord is a loving God. He is a compassionate and merciful God. His love towards us is immeasurable. He has given us His all and His best when He gave us Hs son Jesus Christ. Through Christ’s death we have access to God the Father. Something He had longed for since the beginning of time. When you read the passages leading up to the verse above, the children of Israel were not enduring hard times when God spoke those words to them; they were enjoying the blessings of the Lord (vs10). Everyone had their own homes, the temple was built and it was beautiful and made with the finest materials. What God was doing was preparing them for the hard times they would endure. God knows that when we are facing hard times we do not seek God’s face, we seek His hands. We say Lord give me this, that and the other. Our attitude is, if God does not move fast enough for us, we are ready make new alliances with other gods. We are ready to compromise and negotiate with the god of this world. In hard times we don’t see His face, we are not concern with what He has to say, we are more concern with what we can get from him. We treat God like a vending machine. If you put in the right amount of coins you get what you want but in our case, if we say the right words and then sign off with “in Jesus name” we demand that we get what we want. God is saying seek my face not my hands. Body language says a lot but facial expressions speak volumes. The word of God is the expression of His face, study it and you will see the Love and compassion of the father. Anyone who has been in love knows how it feel when the one you love only want you for what you can give them and not for who you are. Haiti is facing hard times and from the look of things everyone is seeking God’s hand. They are not really concerned about His face, what He is saying or How He feels. I believe with all of my heart that if the church, the people of God begin to seek God’s face they will not only have God, but all that His hands can provide. Tonight as we pray, ask the Lord to help the Church in Haiti and abroad to earnestly seek His face.

With U4 Him
