PRAY FOR HAITI - 40 DAYS OF PRAYER - DAY 40 PRAISE THE LORD!
Eph 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
It has been a 40 days journey. In those forty days we prayed through hurricanes, Cholera outbreak and an election. I want to thank God for all of you who supported us. We know that it was not in vain. We know that in the very near future we will be hearing news that will encourage our hearts. Today during our worship service we took some time out to pray for Haiti, sang the Haitian Christian National Anthem and commit all of our work to the Lord. Then we erupted in spontaneous praise unto the Lord because He is good and His mercies endures for ever.
The people were out voting today. Not much violence has been reported “Praise the Lord” however it’s not over yet. There were reports of fraud nonetheless. A member of our church remembered 23 years ago during the elections how she was shot in the chest and then was kidnapped. After pleading with her captors saying “I have daughters that need me,” they set her free. She will never forget Election Day in Haiti. Just as she will never forget Election Day in Haiti, let us not forget the Haitians in Haiti.
We’ve prayed, we fasted we made comments and now we are committing all of our efforts unto Him who is able to take them and “do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,” We commit it all to Him and whatever He does with it we will be sure to give Him the Glory Praise and Honor that He so deserves. I want to thank everybody who participated in this prayer movement. May God’s blessings be upon all of our friends who supported us in prayer. 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Faith:
PRAY FOR 40 DAYS OF PRAYER -DAY 39
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hoped for, certain of what we do not see."
Tomorrow is Election Day in Haiti. We have been praying and interceding for 39 days so, what are we hoping for? What is it that we are certain of though we have not seen it yet? We are certain that:
1. Our prayers were not in vain. The Lord has heard every prayer, saw
every tear and has begun to act on behalf of His children.
2. A revival of repentance will spread throughout the Haitian churches in
Haiti and abroad.
3. Haiti’s next president whether He or she is a believer or not will be
aninstrument in God’s hand to execute justice and mercy with
integrity while rebuilding Haiti.
4. Violence during the elections will be at a bare minimum or nonexistence.
5. The Cholera outbreak will come to a complete halt.
Tonight as we pray, thank the Lord for his faithfulness towards His people, Thank Him in advance for the work He has begun in Haiti for His Glory.

Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Faith:
Isaiah 58:9
Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
There are two days until the elections and the situation looks bleak. Hope seems to be fading for many. There are 18 candidates and no clear front runners, many of the citizens have lost their voting cards in the earthquake and protesters have taken to the street with violence looming. This is on top of the January 12th earthquake that occurred this year where dried bodies and limbs still hangs from a collapsed two story building in Carrefour Feuilles one of the poorest neighborhoods in Haiti. There are 1.5 million people are still living in tents, Cholera outbreak killed over 1,500 and infected thousands. Regardless of how the situation may present itself, we must persevere in prayer. We must not give up. Beraca Baptist Church is still at our annual retreat where we have intensified praying for Haiti. Isaiah 58:9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. We believe that though Haiti’s situation is difficult, it is not impossible for God to turn it around. As we pray tonight, pray that the people of God would cry out for help and believe God for what many would think is impossible.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Today we are celebrating Thanksgiving in the United States. It’s a time when families get together and have dinner and share what they are thankful for. So often we begin by thanking God for the people and possessions in our lives and rightfully so, He is a gracious and loving God. The question we must wrestle is, if those things were taken away from us, would we still be thankful? 1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. How do you give thanks in all circumstances? How can you accept tragedy as God’s will for you? Think of the people in Haiti. How can they give thanks for their situation and accept it as God’s will for their lives? The answer is in the last two words of that verse, “in Christ.” For it is in Christ that you can find joy in the midst of trial. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us,… for the Joy of the Lord is your strength. Even while they are going through difficult times we can trust that “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard (their) hearts and (their) minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7. And in the end we know that “my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19. It is in Christ Jesus we can give thanks in all circumstances. Outside of Christ our circumstances can dominate us and render us hopeless, but in Christ, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. The Lord also gives us this assurance in Rom 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. So often we misinterpret this verse thinking it say all thing are good. It says all things work together for good, so that means we have to wait to see the end product and not focus on what is happening here and now. With that said, I can’t wait to see what God has in store for Haiti. When I think of the possibilities, I can’t help but to begin to give God thanks now for what I know He can do and will do for Haiti. Tonight as we pray ask the Lord to help our Haiti brothers & sisters in Haiti to give God thanks in spite of their circumstances.

Dear Friends and Colleagues in the Faith:
PRAY FOR 40 DAYS OF PRAYER -DAY 36
Matthew 26:36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
Beraca Baptist Church is leaving tonight for its annual Thanksgiving retreat at the beautiful Dolce Conference Center in Connecticut. Every year for the past 27 years over 300 participants from the Tri-State area, Massachusetts, Canada and Florida join us as we get away from the busyness of life to pray, seek God’s face and replenish ourselves. This year’s theme is The Blessings of Obedience. The bible encourages us to draw away to secluded places to pray. Jesus practiced silence and solitude to connect with God the Father. Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Drawing away to connect with God should be a regular activity for the child of God, especially when they are seeking God’s favor for a special situation such as Haiti. We should “Divert Daily”, get away to do your daily devotions; “Withdraw Weekly” take your Sabbath rest once a week and “Abandon Annually” get away and take a vacation every year. While we are away, we are going to intensify our intercessory prayers for Haiti and its upcoming election. As Jesus was sorrowful and troubled over the situation of mankind which resulted in passionate prayers, we too are sorrowful and troubled over Haiti’s situation and will utter passionate prayers on their behalf. Imagine we are only four days away from the election and there are still 19 candidates running for president. You would think by this time some of the candidate who have no hope of winning would begin backing some of the front runners. That is not the case. This has been a strange year nevertheless, we will remain on our knees and trust God every step of the way. He knows what’s best for Haiti. Tonight as we pray and intercede for Haiti, find a quiet place and draw near to God.

PRAY FOR HAITI 40 DAYS OF PRAYER -DAY 35
PRAISE THE LORD, AN ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS!
As we prayed and asked the Lord to begin a revival of repentance in our Haitian churches in Haiti and abroad, the Lord is beginning to answer our prayers. I attended a meeting last night with about 30 Haitian pastors who are committed to prayer and action. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians, Haitian churches and Haitian Christian organizations around the world representing the Diasporas will join together to fast and pray for 40 days beginning December 3, 2010. They will open their doors for fasting and praying leading up to the anniversary of the earthquake that ravaged Haiti this year on January 12th. On January 12, 2011 churches will conclude with worship services, extended prayer meetings, concerts and other celebrations expressing their love and devotion to God. Throughout that period of time action plans will be revealed so that the people of God can participate. The theme verse for the 40 days of prayer is 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Praise The Lord!
Tonight as we pray, pray that a Spiritual Revival of Repentance will inundate His people and bring transformation to Haiti. Also, pray that the violence that normally erupts during the elections will be at a bare minimum if not totally eradicated.

Hebrews 10:36
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
As we are in the final week of the 40 Days of Prayer for Haiti and its upcoming elections, many are feeling weary. We can call it “Battle fatigue.” We have been battling on our knees crying out and interceding for Haiti. Some have been fasting and praying, others have been writing about Haiti. I personally found it very challenging trying to fit these daily writings in an already hectic schedule. We all have made some kind of sacrifice of time, money or energy and quite naturally its beginning to wear on us. But nevertheless, we must continue to endure. The prize is never given to the swift nor the strong but to those who endure to the end. As we read in Heb 10:36, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Last night as Beraca Baptist Church gathered to pray for Haiti live on Radio Lumiere, we had some challenges as we did last week. Last week’s emission was cancelled because of difficulties in Haiti and this week we were facing the same fate. We were schedule to go on from 7pm to 8pm when we began to experience all kinds of technical difficulties but nevertheless, we continued to pray and worship the Lord. We worked through the entire hour trying to fix the problem but was unsuccessful. The Spirit of the Lord prompted us to continue praying and worshipping even though our hour was over. Amazingly at 8:10 there was a breakthrough and we went on the air for 45 minutes. We don’t know what God was doing behind the scene, we don’t know why all the difficulties. It would have been easy to give up and say we gave it our best try, but we persevered through prayer and in the end countless Haitians were blessed and encouraged. Let us not give up but rather strengthen ourselves and each other to press forward in prayer and fasting knowing that we will receive what God has promised us because He is faithful. As we pray tonight, ask the Lord to strengthen His people who are on the frontline of the battle so that we may endure and not give up.
